Project
We’ve got an action packed project over sixteen months, and below we’ve summarised it into the three main elements!
Time to research!
Each partner will research the current situation of STEM in their country, through a series of primary research using interviews and focus groups, as well as secondary information through the traditional search methods (and perhaps some ChatGPT!)
We want to know three main things for each partner:
What STEM subject is least liked or engaging?
What Cartoon software do young people engage with?
Who, from their peer group, do young people think are most socially excluded?
Brainstorm and develop!
Once the results are in, the partners will start to develop a learning program for young people aged 13 to 17. It will focus on that pesky STEM area no-one really likes and train these youngsters to be able to produce wonderful cartoons to popularise that STEM area, whilst also demonstrating strong inclusion values and engaging with local dialects when possible.
The partners will create:
A 10 session programme that will teach 7 young people in each country to develop a cartoon based on a specific STEM area and socially excluded group.
Animate and animate!
The program is now in full effect, and our super youth have developed their own cartoons. Combining their creative skills with some new knowledge, we will be able to watch three unique animated videos that will motivate their younger peers in the field of STEM.
The three videos will:
Be country specific with a unique dialect
Focus on a specific underserved STEM area
Show empathy for socially excluded groups
Be suitable for kids aged 7 to 13
